Shutterstock is seeking an experienced Fraud Analyst to join our Cybersecurity and Infrastructure organization. As part of the Fraud Team, this role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, researching and preventing fraudulent digital activity and reducing fraud related losses. This includes supporting a two-sided online global marketplace, reviewing user-account activity, making decisions if evidence reveals fraudulent and/or unauthorized activity, and supporting internal technologies used to prevent and detect suspicious activity.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

Observe eCommerce transactions and user behavior to identify high risk activity such as account takeover, fake account creation, payment fraud, friendly fraud (first party abuse), and similar risks
Monitor various fraud prevention tools and security alerts to identify potential risk and/or losses
Analyze notifications of fraud and chargeback data to identify fraudulent and abusive patterns to take action
Research and respond to internal escalations that require account activity review, analysis and resolution
Assist in proactively investigating and researching fraud claims to support a two-sided marketplace
Maintain a working knowledge of cyber risk management trends in the industry and work to deliver best in class risk management approaches to mitigate fraudulent and abusive activity and related losses.
Identify and communicate emerging fraud scenarios and/or product/process gaps to management, IT, Product and Engineering and assist with remediation and process improvement
Assist in delivering ongoing internal reporting, dashboards and charts to be used by team-members, management and partners throughout the company
Understand operational business processes, policies and supporting technologies
Assist with fraud and security investigations


Qualifications:
Minimum 3+ years of relevant work experience; BS/BA preferred
Strong preference for working in an intelligence or information security environment focused on client service (combating fraud) and delivery
Familiarity with basic concepts of financial fraud, the financial ecosystem (payment gateways, customer disputes and chargebacks), and cyber threats
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is critical
Must have exceptional teamwork, problem-solving, technical/data analysis and communications skills


Supervision:
Individual contributor role, reporting to the Fraud Manager
