Something Borrowed Blooms is on a mission to make wedding flowers affordable, stress-free, and sustainable. To make this happen, our platform powers logistics, e-commerce, and customer experience. As we continue to scale, we are rebuilding and optimizing our platform to better serve our customers, streamline operations, and unlock new opportunities. We need a personable, driven, and tech-savvy Product Owner to lead the product roadmap for this next stage of growth!
As Product Owner, you’ll connect the dots between business, CX, operations, and engineering. You’ll own the roadmap for our core platform, working cross-functionally to gather stakeholder needs, prioritize initiatives based on business impact, and define technical requirements that set our developers up for success. This is a highly collaborative, technical, and strategic role where you’ll work with just about everyone – from our co-founders to our customers – to have a direct impact on a product that touches every part of our business and delivers on our vision to help couples’ wedding dreams come true.
What You’ll Do
- Understand Current Workflows: Begin by immersing yourself in our current tech and processes. Maintain documentation and serve as subject matter expert.
- Own the Product Roadmap: Define and manage the roadmap for our internal platform across logistics, e-commerce, and customer experience.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Act as the point person for intake and alignment across engineering, UX, operations, and leadership. Translate business needs to technical minds and vice versa. Collaborate closely with an external agency (our development partners) to build and launch the new platform.
- Prioritize for Impact: Evaluate stakeholder requests through the lens of business impact, customer value, and technical complexity to drive prioritization.
- Define Requirements: Write clear, detailed product requirements and user stories, including edge cases and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate Execution: Partner with internal stakeholders and our external design and development agency to scope, refine, and deliver features on time and with high quality.
- Measure Success: Work with stakeholders to define KPIs, track feature performance, and iterate based on data and user feedback.
- Champion the User: Advocate for seamless, scalable user experiences across the platform that delight our customers and reduce friction.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role
- Strong technical background — A solid understanding of modern technology stacks, APIs, and platform integrations. Familiarity with BigCommerce or Shopify preferred. While you won't be writing code, you should have a firm grasp of how these elements work together to drive digital products.
- Solid understanding of UX principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers
- Proven ability to balance competing priorities and make trade-offs that drive business results
- Love to learn and problem-solve – You get excited about figuring out how things work. Diving into a new software or process doesn’t scare you; it energizes you. You're naturally curious and always seeking ways to optimize the product.
- A natural communicator – You can chat with developers about tech details one minute, and explain those same ideas in simple terms to a non-tech teammate the next. You know how to listen, clarify, and make sure everyone’s on the same page.
- An organizer’s mindset – Spreadsheets, checklists, project plans – you enjoy keeping things organized. You’re good at breaking big goals into doable steps, and you never lose sight of the timeline. Should have experience in an agile environment and utilizing tools like Confluence, Teamwork, or Asana.
- Care about the user – You always think about the person on the other side of the screen. You have a knack for spotting what could confuse or frustrate a customer, and you’re eager to improve it so their experience is seamless and enjoyable.
- Bonus: If you have experience in DTC/e-commerce or a passion for weddings, you’ll feel right at home!
- Remote work mastery: The ability to work independently and proactively in a remote setting is essential. You should be highly accountable, resourceful, and able to manage your own workload effectively. Preference for hybrid candidates who can regularly visit our HQ in Lafayette, Louisiana.
