Developer (Contracted) Department: OS BENEFiTS Reports to: Director of Engineering Classification: Independent Contractor Compensation: $75 per Hour (est 15 hours per week)
OVERVIEW This is a contracted, part-time, temporary position that will support our team in maintaining and enhancing OS BENEFiTS' technology infrastructure. The Developer will be responsible for implementing new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring the seamless integration of front-end and back-end systems. This role requires a deep understanding of modern web development frameworks, best practices in security and scalability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment and is eager to contribute to an evolving product.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Front-End: ● Experience in Vue.js and Nuxt frameworks ● Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript ● Experience with building and managing modern, responsive UI components
Back-End: ● Understanding of Laravel and PHP ● Experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs ● Familiarity with authentication, role-based access control, and security best practices
CMS Integration: ● Experience working with Directus or any modern CMS ● Ability to customize and extend CMS functionalities as needed ● Strong focus on content management workflows and ensuring seamless integration
Additional Skills: ● Database experience, ideally with MySQL or MariaDB ● Familiarity with GraphQL is a plus ● Experience working in an environment with containerization tools like Docker ● Version control (Github) and experience with managing multiple environments (dev, staging, production)
Other Requirements: ● Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams, including designers and content editors ● Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail ● Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a growing startup environment
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS ● 3-5 years experience as a full-stack developer ● BA/BS degree in CS, EE or equivalent work experience ● Experience with system integration ● Proven ability to build relationships quickly in a remote work environment. ● Empathetic, patient, and active listener. ● Solutions-oriented and displays innovation and initiative. ● Self-motivated, able to prioritize, and can work independently as well as on a team
